In the future, I plan to utilize my journalism degree to tell people’s stories. As a freshman in high school, I was exposed to the motto of “every person has a story.” I got an even better understanding of the unique stories that each person had when I entered college at UNC Chapel Hill and I was surrounded by an incredibly diverse group of talented individuals.
While I don’t know every person that I pass on my walk to class, I know that the one thing we share in common is being a Tar Heel. Every person on campus and beyond has a unique story to their life that is worth sharing with the world.
I want to use my degree in journalism to share the stories of the people I come across in different locations and cultures to make an impact on their lives and the people around them. As a journalist I will have the power to inspire, to educate and to forge connections.
